Review and Assessment of Nuclear Facilities by the Regulatory Body

This Safety Guide provides recommendations on how to satisfy the requirements established in Safety Standards Series No. GS-R-1, Legal and Governmental Infrastructure for Nuclear, Radiation, Radioactive Waste and Transport Safety, concerning the responsibilities and functions of the regulatory body in the regulation of nuclear facilities. It provides recommendations on regulatory review and assessment of the various safety related submissions (on siting, design, construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning or closure of a nuclear facility) to determine whether a facility complies with the applicable safety objectives and requirements.
