Reclaiming our Bones

African-descended women have long had a fraught relationship with orthodox readings of the bible. They have not been allowed to find their own histories within the voices of scripture. Reflecting on the suffering of black women throughout history, this book demonstrates how black women might situate themselves within the stories of scripture, allowing the stories of women like Rahab and the Syrophoenician woman, to become their own.
