This selection of over 210 archive images, many not published before, documents life in the busy seaside communities of Ramsgate and St Lawrence during the last century.All aspects of everyday life are recorded here, from shops and businesses, schools and churches, to pubs and hotels, sporting achievements and entertainment, including dancing competitions on Ramsgate Sands in 1925. Events such as the Ramsgate Harbour Regatta and peace day celebrations in 1919 are recalled, alongside memorable characters, notable officials and beneficiaries who have helped to shape the area. Landmarks such as Ramsgate Harbour and the West Pier are also featured.
