Public Expenditure Decision Making

The process by which government decision makers in India allocate funds among different departments, sectors and projects and how they determine the level of aggregate public expenditure is analyzed in this book. Anuradha Basu highlights the complexity of the budgetary process. The findings of this study throw new light on the observed expenditure trends in India and suggest ways in which governmental decision-making procedures can be improved.
