His research interest is in the development of biomass-derived carbon-based materials used as catalysts for energy and environmental remediation. He has published 129 research articles, including four patents (one international), which have transformed many industries in India and abroad. Dr. Gopal Chandru Senadi, professionally known as G. C. Senadi, is a reputed synthetic chemist with expertise spanning industrial and academic research. A native of Chennai, India, Dr. Senadi obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Madras in 2005 and completed his Master of Science in Applied Chemistry at Anna University in 2007. He began his professional journey in the pharmaceutical industry, serving for 4.3 years in synthetic R&D at GVK Biosciences and Anthem Biosciences. His industrial experience laid a strong foundation for his transition into academia, where he pursued doctoral research under the mentorship of Prof. Jeh-Jeng Wang at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan. His doctoral work focused on the development of transition-metal and metal-free synthetic methodologies for bioactive compounds. Subsequently, he was awarded a prestigious three-year postdoctoral fellowship by Taiwan's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). During this tenure, he specialized in sustainable synthetic strategies, emphasizing the synthesis of heteroatom-containing molecules and functional group transformations. Dr. Senadi’s research portfolio includes over 65 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. He is also a patent holder and a dedicated reviewer for several leading journals. He currently serves as a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at SRMIST, Kattankulathur.
