Patricia Jabbeh Wesley is the author of five previous collections of poetry, includingWhen the Wanderers Come Home, Where the Road Turns, The River Is Rising, Becoming Ebony, andBefore the Palm Could Bloom: Poems of Africa. Her new and selected collection,Praise Song for My Children,was released by Autumn House in March 2020. Her work has been translated into Italian, Spanish, and Finnish. She teaches creative writing and African literature at Penn State Altoona.
