Particle Removal from Reservoirs and Other Surface Water

This latest in the series of particle separation conferences brought together technical specialists and those interested in the management aspects relating to the quality of water stored in dams, reservoirs and other surface waters and the subsequent treatment of that water to make it suitable for use. The 14 papers selected for these proceedings deal with both with fundamentals - the nature of the challenges involved in removing the natural organic matters in raw water supplies, fundamentals of particulate cohesion, computational fluid dynamics - and with real applications and developments of techniques - coagulation, flotation, ammonia removal. Membrane techniques, Giardia and Crytosporidium removal, and the use of constructed wetlands for solids removal.
