SABINE MAASEN is Professor for Science Studies at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Recent research interests include the social construction of sexual selves, the dynamics of knowledge, particularly as regards the notion of consciousness, as well as the dynamics of knowledge between different scientific and nonscientific discourses.
