Mass Media Law ISE

Don R. Pember has a doctorate in mass communication law from the University of Wisconsin and is a Professor of Communications at the University of Washington. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award and the Society of Professional Journalists’ Public Service Award. Clay Calvert is professor emeritus at the University of Florida, where he held a joint appointment as professor of law in the Levin College of Law and Brechner Eminent Scholar in Mass Communication in the College of Journalism and Communications. Since June 2023, Calvert has served as a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, writing more than 130 columns about topics at the intersection of free speech, media law, and technology.
