Marcantonio Flaminio

The life of Flaminio mirrors the first half of the sixteenth century in Italy. He was a member of the courts of Leo X and the Duke of Urbino. As the finest lyric poet of he age, he was patronized by the church. He joined Valdes's circle in Naples and was coauthor of the most popular and most controversial religious works of the century.
