Ansari conceptualizes leadership as a `reciprocal influence process' and power as a `potential influence', the link between the two being `influence'. He discusses findings from his survey of over four hundred executives in which he considered: bases of power, leadership style, leader behaviour, perceived organizational climate and organizational characteristics.
