Liquid Film Coating

Precision coating, a topic of widespread and ongoing research, began in earnest in 1982. The scientific issues raised by the industry are common to many industries and of interest to universities. Liquid precision coatings require a complex, multidisciplinary process entailing high level computational surface analyses, sophisticated surface preparation, molecular or chemical deposition of the film, and curing or conditioning. Applications, on the other hand, are very commercial: adhesive tape, glass tints, etc. Key industries are photography, electronics, automotive, and metal finishing. This book is written for the researcher and industrial scientist, and is the first to introduce the state of the art to the practitioner outside of R&D departments.
