As a child, Carlos watched the Nelson House burn. And as its walls fell to a blazing inferno, so did his childhood friend Kevin, trapped somewhere inside.

But Carlos and Kevin weren't alone that night. His future wife Jess, their wisecracking friend Duke, nebbishy Eddie and troubled Jaimie were also present for this tragedy. In the aftermath they remained silent about its culprit, a spectral figure cloaked in black and wielding two white phantom revolvers.

Now, on the eve of Hurricane Katrina, they find themselves standing before the very house that vanished in flames 20 years prior. And to seek shelter from the coming storm they must reenter its doors and confront this familiar wraith from their fiery past.
