ELLIE VASTA is Senior Researcher and Programme Head at the ESRC Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford, UK. She heads the Integration and Social Change Programme, concerned with how immigrants and members of existing societies accommodate cultural diversity, concentrating on social, cultural, political and economic integration. She is currently working on a project that examines the roles of immigrants' work strategies and their networks in the process of integration.
