Integration of Health Telematics into Medical Practice

This book addresses very different subjects from research to practice, from medicine to information technology and from medical informatics issues. In most of the European countries, the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia, telemedicine is already one of the columns that keeps the health care system under control in terms of cost saving and quality assurance. This is reflected by significant funding from the governments of many of these countries, which are more than ever under a huge pressure to keep their health care systems alive. However, telemedicine has not yet reached mainstream medicine. The interest of scientists in addressing the issue of the impact of telemedicine on contemporary practices in medicine is still limited. Proper outcomes research on the effectivenes of telemedical applications would speed the implementation of telemedicine in contemporary practice. This is what makes this publication so valid.
