Dr. Stefanos Manias received his B. Eng., M. Eng., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada in 1975, 1980, and 1984, respectively. In 1989, Dr. Manias joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he was a full professor and director of the Electrical Machines and Power Electronics Laboratory. His focus was on teaching and conducting research in power electronics and motor drive systems. Dr. Manias has authored more than 100 publications on power electronics and motor drive systems, with at least 6,000 citations and 30 United States patent references. He is an IEEE Fellow, was named to Stanford’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list for 2023, and served as the Chapter Chairman of the IEEE Greece section of the joint IEEE societies IAS-PELS-IES.
