I Once Was A Dot

Starting a family looks different for everyone. This story shares the experience of a family that came to be because of IVF. Beginning as a tiny dot of cells on a screen, the dot grows and grows, from a bean to a sprout, and eventually, to a baby. 

Author and illustrator, Bess Gutter, went through three difficult years of infertility. After many failed attempts, she thought it would never happen. But thanks to the science of IVF, Bess and her husband Jordan welcomed their child, Lily, to the world.

She is the inspiration behind this book.
