Not everyone is the hero of their own story . . . 

Bottom-rung office worker Sevin Naughtir probably shouldn't be alive. His nose spontaneously leaks a weird tarlike substance. He possesses the inexplicable ability to run faster than any other creature on Earth. And a new coworker vividly remembers him committing suicide back when they were both in middle school. It's an odd existence-but so long as the local bars serve all his favorite whiskies, he sleeps just fine. Until the shadows become restless.

When Sevin becomes the target of superhuman, self-proclaimed "heroes," he must figure how to move fast enough to solve the mystery of his reality while fighting to stay alive.
