Dr. Winter is a professor of pathology, immunology, and laboratory medicine; pediatrics; and molecular genetics and microbiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is principal investigator for the National Institutes of Health-funded Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Islet Cell Autoantibody Core Laboratory and Islet Autoantibody Standardization Program. Dr. Winter directs the endocrine autoantibody laboratory that at the University of Florida, has given numerous presentations and has published extensively on behalf of the AACC. A multiple-time winner of the AACC outstanding speaker award, Dr. Winter has served on several AACC annual meeting organizing committees. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry, which he served as a member of the board of directors. He has contributed more than 200 articles, chapters, and abstracts. Lori J. Sokoll, Ph.D., FAACC is Professor of Pathology in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has secondary appointments in Oncology and Urology. She is Associate Director of the Clinical Chemistry Division and Director of the Special Chemistry Laboratory in the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her research interests are focused on the evaluation and clinical applications of cancer biomarkers. She is an Associate Editor of the AACC publication Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine.Lori J. Sokoll, Ph.D., FAACC is Professor of Pathology in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has secondary appointments in Oncology and Urology. She is Associate Director of the Clinical Chemistry Division and Director of the Special Chemistry Laboratory in the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr Holmquist is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Biochemistry, licensed by the state of California as a laboratory director, and certified as a New York State laboratory director. He earned his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Riverside. He has worked for more than 30 years in the life science industry, including more than 17 years in the diagnostic laboratory industry. He is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Society for Mass Spectrometry and the American Association of Clinical Chemistry. Roger L. Bertholf, PhD, is Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry at Houston Methodist Hospital, and Professor of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He has served as president of the Association of Clinical Scientists and the Academy of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, and chaired the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel. He received the Young Clinical Scientist Award, Clinical Scientist of the Year Award, and Diploma of Honor from the Association of Clinical Scientists, and the President’s Award from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Bertholf is Editor in Chief of Laboratory Medicine.Roger L.
