The author travelled to Los Angeles, New York, London, Ireland and Viena to interview many of those who knew him well - his daughter Ava, Audrey Hepburn, Rudolf Nureyev, Diana Vreeland, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr, Ginger Rogers and many others, who reminisce about the Fred they knew, providing personal glimpses of this legendary king of the dance floor. Included in the text are many previously unpublished photographs from private collections.
