Semel) of 'Schools of Tomorrow' Schools of Today: Whast Happened to Progressive Education and Knowledge and Pedagogy: The Sociology of Basil Bernstein. - SUSAN F. SEMEL is Associate Professor in the School of Education at the City College of New York. She is the author of The Dalton School: The Transformation of a Progressive School, one of the seminal histories of the progressive school movement in the United States.
