Michael Grossman, B.S., Ph.D., LL.B., Barrister & Solicitor, of the Ontario Bar, is a chemist from before becoming a lawyer – practising criminal law defence in Toronto, Canada. And, a member of the American Chemical Society for 53 years.Ph.D., University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, N.B., 1972, physical chemistry – photochemistry. B.S., chemistry, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, 1967. High school diploma, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, 1962. • American Chemical Society member, since 1968; ACS Division of Chemistry and the Law, since 1981; papers presented at ACS meetings; editor, CHAL newsletter, Spring 2001→Spring 2005. • LL.B., UNB Law School, 1980; called to the Bar of Ontario, 1986. • Criminal law defence, Toronto, since 1987; sole practice, since ~2000. • Fall term 1985 → June 1996: instructor, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY LAW, Continuing Education, Ryerson, Toronto. • Toronto Workers’ Health & Safety Legal Clinic, volunteer, 1989 → 2016 -- at various times on the Board of Directors, Treasurer, website & newsletter (2006 → 2016) editor. • As author, 1988 & 1994: The Law of Occupational Health and Safety in Ontario.
