Lunbo Duan obtained his doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering from Southeast University in 2010. Funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPRSC), he worked as a research fellow at Cranfield University in UK from 2014 to 2015. He has received a grant from the Excellent Young Scientist Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2019. Now he is a professor at the School of Energy and Environment at Southeast University. Professor Duan has built the first oxy-fuel fluidized bed combustion system with warm flue gas circulation in the world. He has established an innovative method of oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed combustion with high efficiency and low emission based on oxygen/warm flue gas circulation. He has published more than 100 SCI papers with an H-index of 47.Dennis Lu is a renowned thermal engineering and thermophysics academic, with a Doctor of Technology from Aalto University, Finland. He has dedicated over 35 years to research in CCUS and controlling pollutants from fluidized bed conversion. His extensive career includes a 27-year tenure at CanmetENERGY, Natural Resources Canada, where he spearheaded influential projects. His international engagements have been crucial, collaborating with prestigious organizations. His leadership in scientific communities is marked by chairing the International Fluidized Bed Combustion Conference and serving on the Executive Committee for the IEA Fluidized Bed Conversion. His scholarly contributions are reflected in his authorship of over 150 articles, which have garnered extensive citations and recognition.
