For the Lies bleed in, and lurk

So deep, you can’t even perceive them...

First and always, they called Desmond, “Fat.”

He grew up big, and tough. Tough enough to be on the cusp of a big league contract, when he lost it all. He had become, “The Roll.” The crowd would chant. His very presence could turn the tide. Then the stretcher came, midgame. And life changed.

He came to call her, “Sunshine.” And that she was. One of the crowd, one who used to chant. Funny how things happen, a chance meeting...when somehow, suddenly, a path becomes manifest.

Barely able to care for himself, Desmond starts to see. He reaches out to an emaciated, four legged neighbour that becomes his buddy.

Can Desmond shatter his chains and turn the tide again? Can Sunshine see Desmond for who he is? Can they discover a future, together?

If his buddy has anything to say about it, they will!
