Extracorporeal Photochemistry

This text explores the use of photoactivated 8-methoxypsoralen for the treatment of a wide range of human diseases. The photochemotherapy, first developed over 10 years ago for the treatment of a common T-cell lymphoma, has now been shown to be efficacious for many other indications, including the prevention of cardiac transplant rejection episodes. In this volume, the fundamental aspects of psoralen photochemistry, photobiology and photoimmunology are reviewed. Recent clinical applications are also discussed.
