Exonerated

Based on legal records and on interviews conducted by the playwrights with former death row inmates who had since been freed by the state, The Exonerated was first performed off-Broadway in October 2002, where it received a Lucille Lortel Award, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. In 2006, it transferred to Riverside Studios, London, where the production was supported by Amnesty International, who stated, 'This play is a shocking and timely reminder of one of the most compelling reasons why the death penalty should be abolished immediately.''A masterpiece.'
