David M. Allan received his medical training at Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital in England. He was chief resident in Pediatrics at Bellevue Hospital in New York City before moving to San Diego, California. Dr. Allan has worked as a family physician in England, a pediatrician in San Diego, and an associate dean at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He has designed, written, and produced more than 100 award-winning multimedia programs with virtual reality as their conceptual base. Rachel Basco earned her B.S. in cardiopulmonary science and M.S. in health sciences from Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Science Center, School of Allied Health Professions. She currently is completing her dissertation for her Ed.P. at Louisiana Tech University. She worked as a registered respiratory therapist for 10 years and then began her career in college instruction in respiratory therapy at the LSU School of Allied Professions in Shreveport, Louisiana. Professor Basco then found her interest to be in nonclinical education and began instructing biology courses at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, Louisiana. She completed a graduate certificate in instructional design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout to improve her expertise in online learning. She is employed as a project director and adjunct instructor in medical terminology at Bossier City Community College.
