Manuela Simoni, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Endocrinology and Deputy Director, Department of Biomedical, Metabolic and Neural Sciences, University of Modena & Reggio Emilia, Italy. She is a past Associate Editor of Human Reproduction and past Senior Editor of the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, and she is a current editorial board member of the European Journal of Endocrinology and Molecular & Cellular Endocrinology. Sheis the author of 167 papers in journals listed in PubMed, as well as more than 60 book chapters, and has an H-index of 52.Ilpo Tapani Huhtaniemi, MD, Dr. Med. Sci. (PhD), is Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology, Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology, Department of Surgery and Cancer, Imperial College London, London, UK. Prior to taking up this position in 2002, he had been Professor and Chairman of Physiology at the University of Turku, Finland for more than 15 years. Dr. Huhtaniemi has been the recipient of many awards and honors, including most recently the Egon Diczfalusy Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award (2014) and the Iain Macintyre Medal from The William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University, London, UK (2015). He has been Chief Editor of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology since 1999 and is also past Editor of various other leading journals. He is a past president of the International Society of Andrology andhas been a member of the WHO Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction since 1987.
