More than 600 participants attended the Berlin International Conference on Science and Peace in October 2005. Thinking Beyond Einstein means to confront his questions and answers with today's scientific identity. Weapons of mass destruction and current threats still require an active policy of peace and disarmament. Einstein's fighting pacifism and his committed stand against nuclear weapons are important points of reference to think beyond in order to name wrong developments in time and to point out alternatives. The conference was particularly influenced by the death of Joseph Rotblat, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and founder of the Pugwash movement, to whom this book is dedicated.
