Tammy's developmental challenges posed a puzzle that the South African medical community couldn't or wouldn't solve. Undeterred, Lorna, Morrice, and Tammy ventured to Purdue University's renowned child clinic in the U.S., finding not only answers but a new purpose.Returning home, Lorna ignited an exceptional educational experiment, gaining government endorsement. But as the endeavor flourished, it drew the ire of state officials, leading to years of conflict and threats against Lorna. After emigrating to the United States, Dr. Swartz continued to expand her profound impact on the medical field. She completed a fellowship in Psychiatry and established a private practice in San Diego.
