Gillian Shields was born and brought up in Yorkshire, then read English at Cambridge. After further study she worked in a drama school for several years before moving to the Sussex countryside. She now looks after her family and teaches English and drama part-time, as well as writing for children. Dan Taylor is an illustrator, living and working in the UK, specialising in children’s design and illustration. Dan likes to combine both traditional painting and digital techniques to create his artwork. He lives with a mischievous dog named Bertie, who likes to chew pencils and marker pens!
