Divided Societies

Class has become a less important issue for political thinkers in recent years than it was to earlier writers. Miliband, however, goes against this trend, arguing that class should still be a central issue. In doing so he brings new insights to controversial subjects. He examines class structures in the West today, considering, on one hand the way in which power elites seek to maintain stability, and on the other, the way in which groups such as the feminist and `green' movements
campaign for change. Miliband concludes by considering the future of class struggle.
