Distillations from the Storms of Life

On the great plains, a thunderstorm is one of nature's fiercest faces. Its terrifying power seems inimical to life. In fact, it can and does kill. And yet, in one of the world's great ironies, it also distills life-giving moisture from the heavy air and pelts the earth with what it needs to thrive. In my own life, a storm of unspeakable sorrow struck down what was dearest to my heart. I felt at a loss to live. And yet, in another great irony, the tragedy distilled from my anguished mind such words as can come in no other way. My suffering bought a wisdom I would never have paid for, if I had known. Now that it is bought, all I can do is give it away. In the thunderstorm of my sorrow, I have distilled the words I believe a world in turmoil needs so desperately to hear. If they are too much for you to read, let me sum them all up (as many others have done before me) in the most important word of all: LOVE. Hold fast to Love in all of life's storms. That is one decision you will never regret. When the storm blows itself out, as all storms do, you will be left with the sweetest distillations that the Universe can give. The drink of the survivor is so sweet. My wish is for you to survive, and then to thrive, with your beloved family and friends. When the storm is over, may we finally find our Heaven upon this Earth.
