Disposal of Waste from the Cleanup of Large Areas Contaminated as a Result of a Nuclear Accident

The problem of ground contamination in the case of a severe nuclear accident is one of special concern. This report gives guidance on planning and management of safe transportation and disposal of large volumes of contaminated materials, with the objective of minimizing the consequences of such an accident. It is closely linked to Technical Reports Series No. 300, Cleanup of Large Areas Contaminated as a Result of a Nuclear Accident (1989), and No. 327, Planning for Cleanup of Large Areas Contaminated as a Result of a Nuclear Accident (1991).
