Discussion Paper on Enhancing Community Resilience to Natural Disasters

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific conducted training workshops in Indonesia as part of the efforts to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters such as the 2004 Tsunami. In this discussion paper, special emphasis is given to orphans, separated children and youth (OSCY), who are among the most vulnerable to the direct impact of natural disasters and events that take place in their aftermath such as neglect, trafficking and abuse.
