March 2015Looking at things from another view point or perspective is a good thing to do. Sujata invites us to join her on a quilt journey of cultural fusion. From the colourful streets of India, to the grey skies of the West, Sujata fuses two cultures into her fabulous quilts. She free forms blocks with style, interpreting tradition with a contemporary twist. I love her quilts. I love the possibilities sections, when she gives you alternate ideas. You also get a look at her design inspiration. If I was going to make just one, I'd choose Winter - its subtle tones appeal and it is perhaps the most contemporary quilt in the book, but you know I want to make them all. There are 15 free-form block projects and two or three more design ideas for using a similar block. What's more I love this easy to use book with clear instructions. Other publishers could take a leaf from C&T's layout and learn to create modern looking books that readers are dying to use. This book is sheer pleasure.
