This book is ticking boxes – hardback, spiral bound so it lies flat whilst you are following instructions. Over 100 blocks with a good variety of designs having clear written instructions or charts if you prefer, these are super clear and a good photo of the crochet block. It makes it easy to choose designs for your projects. There is also basic crochet techniques and this makes the book suitable for any skill level. Some designs have beads, others have surface crochet. The blocks include squares, triangles, hexagons, octagons, circles, snowflakes, stars and flowers. I found the colour choices for some of the blocks rather off-putting, but that is something easily changed as you can select your own colours. I loved the designs and the clear, double-page spread layout of this book. The finished design is on one page with the written pattern instructions and opposite is the chart and a diagram with any special abbreviations. Favourites were the Concentric Squares, Layered Spiral, Textured Quarters, Lacy Stripes, Open Trefoil, Bobble Diamond and Primrose. You could easily alter the size of the designs by using a thinner or thicker yarn too. A crochet book you will want to add to your bookshelf.
