Michael Clinton is President, Marketing and Publishing Director for Hearst Magazines. His responsibilities include oversight of 20 publications, including Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, O, The Oprah Magazine, Seventeen and Esquire. Clinton also serves on the Board of the Hearst Corporation and is the Chairman of the Magazine Publishers of America. He is a Trustee of the International Center of Photography and is the Founder and President of the non-profit organisation, Circle of Generosity. He lives in New York City and Southampton, New York. The images in Closer allow him to focus on the little things that give a culture its character: the way eggs are displayed in cellophane bags in a market in Laos, the candles dripping wax in a candelabrum in Puglia, Italy.
