Dr. Anil Kumar Singh is presently working as Professor and Head, Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, (U.P.). He has specialization in Floriculture & Landscaping. He has served Nagaland University, Medziphema, Nagaland and GBPUA&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. At M.Sc. (Ag.), M.Phil. and Ph.D. level, he has worked all through with flower crops and has a rich experience of over 25 years working with commercial flowers and ornamental plants. Prof. Singh has also evolved 3 gladiolus varieties of florist traits. Prof. Singh has served Banaras Hindu University in various capacities like Chairman, Campus Beautification and Landscaping Committee of BHU and South Campus, Convener, Task Group for Biodiversity Conservation; Member Secretary, Task Force for Plantation, Head, Department of Horticulture, etc. Presently he is looking after Plantation and Landscaping work of entire BHU and Rajiv Gandhi South Campus of BHU as Professor-in-Charge. Prof. Singh has more than 580 publications to his credit (research papers 154, proceeding papers 11, conference/symposium papers 294, books 7, book chapters 31 and popular/semi-scientific articles 83). He is Fellow of Horticulture Society of India (FHSI), Fellow of the Hill Horticulture Development Society (FHHDS), Fellow of Manawadhikar Samajik Manch (FMASM) and Fellow of Indian Society of Hill Agriculture (FISHA). He has supervised 33 M.Sc. (Ag.) and 8 Ph.D. students as Chairman of Advisory Committee. Prof. Singh has also been committed in research and completed projects funded by the DST, DBT, ICAR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, HTM, NHM, UPCAR, etc.
