His research focuses on the practical application and formulation of plant growth-promoting microorganisms, advancing sustainable crop production, protection, and development in both laboratory and field settings. Dr. Mitra has been honored with several prestigious awards from various scientific societies for his contributions to Microbiology and Biotechnology. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Raiganj University, West Bengal, India, and ICAR-National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Odisha, India. Dr. Mitra further expanded his academic horizons through a virtual doctoral internship at the Agroenvironmental and Health Biotechnology Laboratory, Universidad de Santander, Colombia. Dr. Mitra earned his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), India and his B.Sc. in Biotechnology from the Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Vidyasagar University, India. He has developed innovative technologies of "Cocopeat with rice husk and sawdust compost as a nursery medium for growing vegetable seedlings" at ICAR- Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, India, and his collaborative involvement in developing "Microbial consortium (MC) for pest and disease management in rice-horticulture based cropping system in Sikkim" and "Bio-fertilizer consortium (BC) for nutrient management in rice-horticulture based cropping system in Sikkim" at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, India and serves as an editor, editorial board member, Advisory Board Member, special issue editor, guest editor and reviewer for esteemed national and international journals. Before that, she worked in the biochemical laboratory of the Health Center in Kruševac as a graduate biologist from 2003 to 2005. She graduated from the Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, and University of Pristina in 2001. She obtained her master's degree from the Faculty of Science, University of Priština in 2007, and her PhD from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, in 2013. She has several research publications in journals of international repute.
