Between Nothing and Nothing: Selected Poems

Ernst Meister was born in 1911 and died in 1979. His first collection of poems was published in 1932, after which nothing appeared until 1953. He was published regularly thereafter and won a number of literary awards, including - just before he died - the prestigious Georg Buchner Prize. Jean Boase-Beier lectures at the University of East Anglia, is highly regarded as a translator, and has written extensively on the translation of poetry.
