Professor Marlowe Smaby has been at the University of Nevada, Reno in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology since 1992. Previously, he was a Professor of Psychology and Human Service Professions at the University of Minnesota, Duluth for 21 years. He is also a licensed Psychologist and National Board Certified Counselor. Prior to his career in counselor education he was a school teacher and the first elementary school counselor in Wisconsin. Professor Smaby has published many articles in counseling journals and has made many presentations at counselor conventions and was editor of Counselor Education and Supervision for six years. His research interests include counseling skills training, school counseling, and counselor education and supervision and using technology in counseling. He teaches counseling skills, introduction to counseling, clinic supervision and school counseling internships. Cleborne D. Maddux, Ph.D. is Foundation Professor of Counseling and Educational Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno. Before going to graduate school, he worked for nine years in the public schools of Oregon and Arizona. He earned a master's degree from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. He has been a faculty member and department chair at universities in Texas, Arizona and Nevada. Professor Maddux teaches courses in beginning and advanced statistics. He is the author of books and articles dealing with counseling, special education, and information technology in education.
