Dr. Jan Frouz is Professor and Director of the Environmental Centre at Charles University. His scientific interests include soil science, soil biology and ecosystem ecology. His research addresses the question of how interactions between plants, soil and soil biota determine gradual succession changes of soils and consequently whole ecosystems, and how we can use this knowledge to restore ecosystems. Dr. Frouz has published more than 300 scientific papers, with more than 180 articles in WoS-registered journals, and has authored or edited three books and 17 book chapters.Dr. Jaroslava Frouzová is employed by the Biological Centre of the Academy of the Sciences of the Czech Republic as a research worker, and by Charles University, Faculty of Science, Institute for Environmental Studies as Assistant Professor, where she teaches methods of abundance and biomass estimation, special methods in ichthyology and applied ecology. Her research focuses on the development of hydroacoustical methodologies and acoustical data interpretation.
