Alaska Native Parents in Anchorage

Working as a health care provider and teacher at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, Julie E. Sprott designed a project intended to update childrearing information available to Alaska Native and Eskimo parents. Her book combines a scientific approach with the author's sensitivity to Native customs and acculturation processes; she advances socialization and child development theories while isolating urban Anchorage for her study.
