This volume includes seven chapters that detail advances in health and disease research. Chapter 1 examines the factors that determine Quality of Life (QoL) of individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), a group that has pervasive difficulties with intellectual and adaptive functioning in conceptual, social and practical domains. Chapter 2 compiles the latest research on herbs investigated for their efficacy in the management of diabetes, with a particular emphasis on the underlying mechanisms of action and the role of bioactive natural products such as alkaloids, glycosides, and flavonoids derived from natural sources. Chapter 3 focuses on DNP and discusses diabetic peripheral neuropathy, disease epidemiology, and pathophysiology treatments available with new recommendations on preventing or treating the disease arising from both types of diabetes. Chapter 4 poses challenges in assessing the incidence, severity, and long-term consequences of drug-induced nephrotoxicity (DIN). Chapter 5 provides the rationale for exploring intermittent fasting (IF) as a potential therapeutic strategy for numerous metabolic, inflammatory and chronic conditions. Chapter 6 explores the design principles, fabrication techniques, and applications of scaffolds in promoting accelerated wound healing. Finally, chapter 7 aims to analyze the relationship between sprint and vertical jump in male professional basketball players aged Under-13 and Under-14 from the Bandung Utama club.
