After politics, he retrained as a driving instructor and spent many happy years getting hundreds of pupils of all ages through their driving tests. After suffering a stroke Jim completed a 1400 mile fundraising walk for the NHS. Now he is enjoying a well-earned retirement, but is still as active as ever in the local community. You just can't keep a good man down.Jim has always had a love of the sea and all things maritime. Technical details and knowing exactly how things work has always fascinated him. His other passion is science fiction, especially Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, E Doc Smith and John Wyndham.
