Boczek (Case Western Reserve University School of Law) combines the features of a brief encyclopedic dictionary and a textbook in this reference. In the first chapter he introduces general topics related to international law, including its sources and the relationship between international and national law. Subsequent chapters cover the law of peace as it governs states, individuals, spatial context and interaction. Boczek concludes with a chapter on the law of war as it is manifested in international humanitarian law. The volume contains a list of acronyms and abbreviations; a glossary of Latin phrases; a chronology of major developments in international law; a table of cases; and a list of the 373 entries. This is a paperback reprint of a book originally titled International Law; a Dictionary.
