Energy Conservation - The idea of energy conservation is often not to reduce the need, nor to reduce the utility. In general, the idea of energy conservation is to prevent the misuse of energy, or not to waste energy in any way.

Renewable Energy - Purpose – To know about non - conventional source of energy (renewable source), put in daily use, make better use of energy, waste misuse, stop where possible, conserve energy.
    In this, mainly solar energy, hydro energy(water fall), wind energy, agricultural and animal waste, organic manure (biomass), gobar gas, tidal energy, geo - thermal energy, wave energy sources etc. are called non - conventional energy sources.
Energy Saving - Citizens/consumers have to follow simple measures and rules directly for energy saving, these measures can be easily adopted in practice in their homes, offices, factories and farms.

Energy conservation is needed:-
To save the rapidly depleting energy resources.
To reduce dependence on energy imports.
To reduce the cost of production in some important/essential industries, so as to be globally competitive.
To curb/stop the deteriorating level of environment and pollution.
To reduce the gap between the demand and supply of energy.
