Tomar (Tanwar) dynasty -

Dynasty -Tradition - In ancient times there was only one dynasty called Manu Vansh Parampara. After this a dynasty started from Manu sons, another dynasty started from Manu daughter Ila. Who respectively got the historical identity Surya dynasty and Chandra dynasty. Agni dynasty, Nag dynasty, Rishi dynasty etc. came into vogue later.

The word Tomar - The use of the word Tomar has come in the book Ram Charit Manas written by Tulsidas in the Lanka Kand, and in the Mahabharata. Tomar is a weapon similar to a sword.
Tomar is the seed, herb of the evergreen tree and used in the toothpaste of Dabur Company.
The origin of the Tomar dynasty is from the Pandava Arjuna, the warrior of the Mahabharata, the descendants of Maharaja Parikshit and his son Janmejaya, born from the womb of Uttara, wife of Abhimanyu, son of Arjuna and Subhadra, brother and brother-in-law of Lord Krishna.

Delhi - King Anangpal Singh Tomar ascended the throne of Indraprastha Delhi, moving ahead of this dynasty. There is a clear mention of the Tanwars settling in Delhi. The founder of Delhi was Maharaja Anagpal Tanwar Vanshi. Tomar's rule was from 734 AD to 1192 AD, a total of 458 years.
At present Tomar (Tanwar) Gautra is also found in Jats, Rajputs and Gujjars. Nowadays, other castes also write themselves as Tomar (Tanwar). Therefore, in such a situation, it is not easy to find out the actual caste by using the word Tomar only, unless there is a detailed discussion / information.
