I Am the Sky

I wish I were a bright blue sky-clear and vibrant, fresh and full of promise. Some days, I wake up feeling like the possibilities are endless, and I am about to step forth into the world, kicking ass and taking names. Other days, I am gray-drizzly and heavy, a sky that makes me want to pull my duvet over my head and burrow into the comfort of my bed. Once in a while, the sky darkens with deep purple clouds that swirl in a moody threat to take out whatever braves to walk within my path. And every so often, I am breathtaking, like a sunset painted in burnt orange and fiery red, fading into a rich indigo twilight.

While I am not always a clear blue canvas, each horizon-whether ominous or peaceful-is me. I have learned to own all of my colors. They are all beautiful. 

This book is a love letter to my life, as I learn to navigate all of the ups, downs, mind-numbing predictability, and wild surprises with as much grace as I can muster (which is very little most days!). I hope you read it and begin to recognize the gift we have all been given the moment our brains awaken from a night of slumber and begin to search the sky for clues about what the day might hold.
